 Rev. Dave Steffenson
attends the WICEC booth at the MREA
(Midwest Renewable Energy Association) Energy Fair held in Custer,
Wisconsin. It is one of the largest fairs of its type in the
world drawing between 15,000 to 20,000 visitors each year for
the past several years.
WICEC's Outreach
Program is designed to inform the general public about the need
to protect our creation from global warming and climate change. WICEC has
a booth to explain our program where ever and whenever we are
called upon. For the past several years our booth was displayed
at MREA's Energy Fair in Custer Wisconsin. The fair is always
held on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nearest Summer Solstice
when the sun is at its highest point in the northern hemisphere,
the longest day of the year (near June 22) when the Sun is farthest
north.
During the past several years, the booth has also been set up at the
Illinois Energy Fair held during the month of August at the county fairgrounds
in Oregon, IL. Board members have actively participated at this fair
by providing seminars at the fair. Similar booths are displayed at Regional
Conferences, seminars, Wisconsin Stewardship Network conferences and
other workshops.
